HIstory

Over 30 years of high quality breads and pastries

  1. 1974

French native Louis Le Duff dreamed of living the American Dream and left his native country to cross the Atlantic. His quest led him to Quebec, where he became a student. These studies in Quebec fueled his vision of recreating a French bakery in America. After graduating from the Superior School of Angers (ESSCA), Louis Le Duff earned his M.B.A. at the University of Sherbrooke. He then opened his first restaurant, a small creperie near the university.

  2. 1980

Le Duff opened his first bakery in a tiny space in Montreal, which launched him into the Canadian market. The business grew rapidly to meet demand for his high quality, European style baked goods.

  3. 1984

Bridor established its first bread and pastry production plant at 1450 Nobel Street, Boucherville, in Montreal's South Shore region. The company set up two production lines for the bread and two more for Viennese pastries. At this time, the company adopted the name Bridor for its industrial division, first in Canada and later in Europe.

  4. 1995

Acquisition of a 46,400 square foot building located at 1370 Graham Bell Street in Boucherville to manufacture four additional bread lines.

  5. 2002

Bridor expanded production with a 142,700-square-foot modern plant in Vineland, New Jersey, ensuring a significant presence in the United States.

  6. 2009

Bridor acquires the family business Au Pain Doré, a bakery specializing in French artisan breads. Located on Rue de Rouen, in the heart of Montreal, the 40,000 quares foot factory expands Bridor's bread production capability.

  7. 2015

Bridor expands its New Jersey Vineland New Jersey plant by 47,000-square-foot to include a state-of-the-art pastry line. This investment allows to double the pastry production capacity.

  8. 2016

Bridor continued its rapid growth and doubles the size of its Boucherville bread factory. The expansion allows Bridor to increase the production plant capacity by 80%.
